#OwningIt: The Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

I hope that you are having a great week and enjoying the fall weather!

In 2019 I published my first financial self-help book for families, titled Owning the Dash: Applying the Mindset of a Fitness Master to the Art of Family Financial Planning. The book had three major objectives:

• Serve as a guide to educate and inspire families as they work to achieve their financial goals.
• Serve as a testimonial to my late cousin Greg Plitt.
• Support causes that help families in need.

I'm excited to share that I was inspired to take the next step in the Owning the Dash journey due to your positive feedback after the book's launch. In February 2022, I will release Owning the Dash: The No-Regrets Retirement Roadmap. This new book will guide individuals and couples who are preparing to make or have recently made the transition to retirement.

My experience working as a financial advisor over the past 18 years has shown that the decisions made in the years leading up to retirement and soon after are often the most critical in determining a happy and secure retirement. Poor planning leads to regrets, and many decisions cannot be reversed. In the book, I've worked to highlight some of the most significant retirement planning to-dos and present them in a fashion that eliminates jargon and confusion.??

I'm also excited to share that while I was writing The No-Regrets Retirement Roadmap, my children, Abbie and Jason, helped me bring another dream to life. I've always wanted to help parents find new ways to teach their children about money. With Abbie and Jason's help, I created my first rhyming children's picture book: Dash and Nikki and the Jellybean Game.??

It's a fun story about a brother and sister who wake up one morning to find a letter inviting them to play the Jellybean Game. They get ten jellybeans each at the start of the day, and after each hour, if they still have ten jellybeans, they get five more. The book teaches children about the value of saving and how something small can grow into something much larger. The book recently received a very positive review by?Kirkus. Its release date is December 7, and it is available for pre-order now on?Amazon?and at?Mascot Books.

Dash and Nikki is the first in a series of Owning the Dash Kids' Books that will be released over the next several years. Each book will teach a unique lesson about money in a fun and exciting way that children can understand and enjoy.
