Work from Home or more popularly known as #WFH, one of the most trending hashtags of the decade.
I knew about this story for the past few weeks but waited for this heart-warming picture to come from @Govind Muley
Having served corporates dedicatedly for over 22 years and trying to instill that culture in the companies that I am working with, I don’t think I can find any bigger and real-life example than this.
Although the picture speaks for itself, I want to add a few more lines.
@Govind Muley working as Customer Support Executive for one of the Pune based Enterprise Software Selling Companies (Viraj Infosoft Solutions Private Limited) for over two years. Soon after lockdown, he obtained the necessary clearance and headed to his hometown - Naigavhan – interiors of Aurangabad District of Maharashtra. He carried his official mobile and laptop.
This was the time when the customers of the company needed his support the most but unfortunately, his town had zero or very poor net connectivity. But he didn’t let that come in his way. He figured out that the neighboring village had few towers and had better connectivity. He figured out one temple and made arrangements with the priest, who let him work from the front yard of the temple.
This was Govind’s office for a number of weeks. A make-shift desk made of rotten stool which didn’t even have the plank on top. A few days later, someone removed the power connection but that didn’t deter him. He carried an extra laptop of one of the family members to ensure the continuity of work.
I remember giving my first talk on “Ownership at Workplace” at this company, Govind and some other colleagues were in the audience in a small gathering. This is the as-lived and the greatest example.
The owners of this company have built an excellent work-culture that is not only friendly for employees but an environment that is highly focussed on their large customer base - mostly the tax practitioners. Everyone working here feels at home and are naturally driven to give their best at all times.
Ownership is the highest form of accountability.

4 年Good article Biman Sir. Ownership as an attitude depends on the work culture. Many a times we see a comment (which is silent) "Its not my work its a company work and so......". Ownership drives employees to get the work done as if its his own and this depends a lot on company culture that makes employees to go beyond their line of duty.

4 年Yes Biman. This is perfect example of ownership @ workspace. We also experienced paramount ownership from some. People upgrading themselves and implementing new learnings in daily work. It is at no cost to organisation and win-win situation.
