OWN YOUR FIELD
If we were to conduct a poll on India's most beloved sport, cricket would undoubtedly end up getting the greatest number of votes. Cricket is a game full of surprises, where anything can happen. And it is the responsibility of the cricket players to ensure that during unprecedented times, any sort of error or misjudgment that might occur on the field must be addressed in a timely manner. This way, fairness is ensured and the match progresses smoothly.
Owning up and demonstrating accountability when required does not just apply to individuals. Rather, the team collectively takes responsibility for their actions instead of evading it or blame-shifting. And we might have witnessed this many times during IPL matches, ODI’s or T20s.
The scenario in organizations is not very different either. Responsibility is crucial and it is essential that every member owns up to their actions instead of dodging them. Just as we admire and respect cricket players when they admit or acknowledge a mistake and uphold the integrity of the game, every individual in an organization must take responsibility for their action to ensure effective teamwork and success.
Take responsibility for your actions. The buck stops here.
