Have you ever scored an 'own goal' in your business?
You see it in soccer, hockey, and football. A player gets turned around and mistakenly scores for the other team! How embarrassing.?
And yes, they happen in business too. We've all been there. The worst part is, it happens even to the best of us. A mistaken strategy, a misjudged decision, or a botched execution. That's your "own goal" in business. No one to blame but the person you see every morning in the mirror.
But, consider this - maybe it’s not all as bad as it appears. Each “own goal” is an opportunity disguised as defeat. It's a sign that you're playing the game, you're in the arena, and you're taking risks. It's a chance to evaluate, to understand what went wrong, and to pivot.
“Own goals” are not just about the momentary loss. They're about the lessons learned, the resilience built, and the determination to keep playing the game.
Next time you or your team scores an 'own goal', remember: it's not the end of the game. It's just a new beginning.
Learn from them, grow from them, and use them as stepping stones towards your ultimate goal: success.
Did you know that the most successful people are those who have made the most mistakes? They're not afraid of scoring an 'own goal.' They see it as part of the game—a stepping stone towards victory.
It's not about the mishap, but about the lessons learned from it. It's not about how many times you've fallen, but about how many times you've gotten back up.
So next time you score an 'own goal,' don't dwell on the mistake. Embrace it. Learn from it. Grow from it. Because in the grand scheme of things, it's simply part of your journey to success.
Remember, every 'own goal' is a learning opportunity in disguise.

As we look ahead into 2024, many leaders are feeling overwhelmed. How can we ensure that 2024 will be different - and better - than 2023? How can you take steps to become the leader that your team and your company need you to be? It's not just going to happen. It takes intentionality. And that's where coaching comes in.?
As an Executive Coach specializing in Mindset and Leadership, I work with entrepreneurs, founders, executives, and C-suite leaders who want to become catalytic in their leadership. Through 1:1 coaching, they move from where they are stuck to where they want to be.?
I'm opening 3 slots for new clients. I don't accept every person who approaches me about coaching; in fact, I turn down those who I believe are not ready or a good fit for what I do. If you'd like to explore whether Executive Coaching is your next step toward the impact you want to make, let's talk. No hard sales pitch. If it's not right for both of us, I'll tell you so. My goal is to help leaders get out of their own way and stop breaking their own businesses, moving into being catalytic in their impact and their legacy. If you're ready, book a time for us to talk.
