OVF Newsletter, August, 2022

August, 2022. The dog days of summer are upon us. Trying to keep your cool is often a challenge. Especially true if you have a project where your flooring material is not available in a timely manner. But no need for a melt down if you remember the many products in the OVF Quick Ship Program. Last month we discussed the OVF Quick Ship resilient base program. Also worthy of mention is the supplies of Tarkett ID Latitude 20 mil LVT we have on hand as well as our stocking Johnsonite rubber treads. Stay cool and read on!

That means top notch durability and resistance to scuffing, scratches and stains. The best part is that many colors are ready to ship immediately keeping your project on schedule.

Hammered is one of the most popular textures so that is why OVF has committed to keeping supplies handy in popular sizes and colors such as #80 Fawn, #28 Medium Gray, #40 Black, #29 Moonrock and #63 Burnt Umber.

A Word About Visually Impaired Treads:

I sometimes get asked about contrast inserts for rubber treads. I refer to the US Access Board, an independent federal agency that promotes equality for people with disabilities through leadership in accessible design and the development of accessibility guidelines and standards.?Created in 1973 to ensure access to federally funded facilities, the Board is now a leading source of information on accessible design.?Below copied from https://www.access-board.gov/ada/guides/chapter-5-stairways/#stairways

How Treads are Made:

Johnsonite molds rubber treads by hand where a worker routes out the groove, applies adhesive, then inserts the tape or vinyl contrast strips. Below is handy list of the standard insert colors that correspond with Johnsonite rubber colors providing the correct contrast for the visually impaired.

FIVE Great Reasons to Love Rubber Floors:

?1.?Rubber floors are quiet! Foot traffic sounds are ?greatly?muffled.

2.?Rubber floors are safer by being naturally slip resistant.

3.?Rubber floors are warmer compared to other resilient flooring types.

4.?Return on Investment! Rubber is known as a long life-cycle floor. 30-50 years!

5.?Rubber requires no finish! It’s easily cleaned and?maintained with the correct tools!

?BELOW: An auto scrubber with brush attachment will get your rubber floor squeaky clean.
