An overview of my key thoughts of yesterday's Harari speech. ( Antwerp)

Start by the idea that, hell yes!, a #holistic and #interdisciplinary view is important if we want to get a clear view of the consequences of our human manipulations. ( Multipotential that I am loved this )

History is a constant flux. Change is the only certainty. How to see the future? Open your mind and go for a global open fluent perspective. If we want to manipulate a global challenge like an environmental challenge, we need to take a holistic perspective and ask our self, what are the consequences on all levels. But men doesn’t have this wisdom. Go for a long perspective.

The anthropologist in me agrees: #stories are important in culture. We need global stories to get a global perspective. Stories are strong and have a big impact. Look at the way we are strongly connected with existing stories. Humans are the only animals who make stories. ( Are you sure… we don’t know this …).

As a life long #learner, the next thing was already clear: What about work? It is dangerous to focus on one #skill. The most important skills are: reinventing yourself, learning and unlearning….having mental flexibility ability. Emotional intelligence has to be educated in schools, but it is much more difficult than learning maths. The danger is that a lot off people will stay behind. The continue changes, adaptations demands for psychological support. society will be divided into two, those who can handle this and those who cannot handle it or who do not receive the necessary support.

As a technological enthusiastic but don't forget #ethics...A the humanities like Philosophy, art become more important especially in combination with engineering. We need their contribution.

The technological innovations will have more and more impact on human behavior. That’s the reason why we need to involve the humanities. Don't let the transformations in hand of what the customers want.

The artist in me still doubt about the next point, I can see the logic but I think and hope this is still far away ;-) . Art is exploring and inspire emotions. What do we mean by creativity if creativity is recognizing patterns… human emotions are biological patterns. So if we have the power & data AI will be a great artist.

From Biological engineering towards cyborg engineering and even non-organic engineering. Humans will become bionic and have two brains an organic brain and a bionic brain. Maybe there will be even a network of brains of different people. As a believer in ecosystems it sounds great at first time as a human it sounds a little creepy...

The brain and the mind are not the same. Where the brain exists of neurons and synapses the mind exists of subjective experiences. These subjective experiences are influenced by the stories we tell and believe. There is also a difference between intelligence, to solve problems and consciousness where we feel things.

Of course, there was a lot more he told. Because of this point, I encounter in my daily life, I will observe them, maybe makes imaginary stories ( or not so imaginary)...
