Overview of Dynamics 365 Finance and operations 10.0.13 (Update37)

So quickly after looking at the 10.0.12 (G.A.) Preview is in for 10.0.13 (update37) with G.A. expected in September.

So the platform docs article points to 6 new enhancements:

• VS tools require 4.7.2 -> if you are updating a previous version pay attention to this one, you need to install before updating your environment (Grumbles someone whose update failed quite a few times).
• Priority-based throttling - Prioritizing OData and custom service based integrations
• Saved views - We have seen it for quite a while but it is now in G.A.
• New grid control - Again been around but in now in G.A. With so many cool enhancements - read more here - Do check out the grid footer :-) (and view)

• Upgrade of Jquery components
• Validation of state in task recordings

10.0.13 also includes .. a few error corrections - lets just leave it at that..

In regards to application enhancements, well the What's new page apparently haven't been updated yet with 10.0.13. so based on the Feature management list:

We are looking at 60 new application enhancements spread across all most modules. Retails takes the lead with 11 new features (although that kind of comparison is very unfair to the team). 9 features are country specific and 15 are in "preview" so wait for going live with those until they hit G.A.

My personal view and note that I tend to be focused on supply chain and logistics.

There are some new priority options on batch jobs (Feature "(Preview) Batch priority-based scheduling")

There is an article on the feature, it says its a 31 feature but I can't see it in earlier version(?). What it appears to do is to reserve different percentages of batch threads. You can define the priority both on the individual batch job and on the group.

A new Product dimension "Version" and two generic (InventDimension11 and InventDimension12) have been added. The Version one will be apparently work similar to the existing Configuration, Size, Color and Style once enabled in the Product dimension group. Note that you enable the configuration key before you can access it:

A new option of setting default order settings to normal or strict (Feature "Strict validation on default order quantities". Interesting design decision to make a general parameter for all items.

The "Hazardous materials product information and shipping documentation" features comes with a LOT of (ok.. simple) setup.

So what you do is to define the Item hazardous material on the Released product [Mange inventory>Compliance>Item hazardous material]. You also have two reports under PIM>Inquiries and reports>Hazardous material shipping documentation. that can be printed on outbound. The documentation is unfortunately a bit sparse

Country of origin management feature have been in preview/flight. It extends the "single" Country of origin and introduces certificates. there is documentation here

Enhancements to master planning have been going on for a while. The "Margins for Planning Optimization" says "This feature enables Planning Optimization to use issue, receipt and order margins.". I have had a little trouble finding more information. there a short note here

I intended to say more about "(Preview) Collections process Automation" but the documentation is currently minimal

There are four Warehouse management enhancements. the first "Work policy enhancements for inbound work" Extends the work policies under Warehouse management>Setup>Work.

"Work pick line overview" - a nice little form to create Tiles from - essentially showing the WhsWorkLines:

Flexible order-committed license plate reservation, is a little scary. It has been presented for a while and is now apparently in G.A (Or perhaps I am mixing up batch and LP reservation).

This feature adds flexibility to the inventory reservation policy. It allows sales-order processing to create order-committed reservations of license plates with data entity support. The feature also improves warehouse work processing by supporting work identification and picking operations based on a single license plate scanning. It also allows picking of multiple work item lines related to the same license plate.

There are some solid documentation for the feature.

There is a little feature "Confirm outbound shipments from batch jobs" which just saved me some custom code. Simply a batch enabled job under Warehouse management>Periodic tasks>Process outbound shipments.
