An overview of DISPLAX Connect

DISPLAX Connect is the control panel software developed for DISPLAX touch?products to control touch detection, as well as offering a wide range of setup?and?configuration?options.

DISPLAX Connect is an extensive touch configuration software included with every DISPLAX product that allows you to communicate directly with your touchscreen controller and create a customized touch setup as well as save the presets to apply in any other similar project.

So how can DISPLAX Connect help you optimize your touch experience? With the help of specific tools included in the software like:

• ‘Configuration wizard’ to automatically configure the touch parameters, namely Gain, Threshold and Shield level. If the configuration wizard fails the touch parameters must?be configured?manually;
• Currently,?the?configuration?wizard?is?only recommended for a regular setup, one LCD and one DISPLAX Touch Sensor;
• ‘Palm’ to define a rejection area when touching the sensor with a palm or arm;
• ‘Sensor’ to enable or disable touch sensor electrodes and to define areas of no-touch detection;
• ‘Geometric calibration’ to physically match the touch sensor position with the display;
• ‘Advanced calibration’ to match the touch sensor?position?to more than one display or to calibrate a touch sensor area that is smaller than the LCD;
• ‘Optimization’ to increase either touch speed or touch precision;
• ‘Number of touches’ to define the number of touches to be detected; Can be less than the number supported by the product.
• ‘TUIO’ a touch transmission protocol, is embedded in DISPLAX Connect, no external bridge is required, and is used to recognize touches in Mac OS, it is also used for object recognition;
• ‘Object recognition’ to recognize objects which can be placed on top of the sensor along with regular touches from fingers;
• ‘Touch test app’ is a viewing application to analyze touch detection information;
• ‘Security pin’ to lock the touch parameters;
• ‘Save and load settings file’ to save a file with the touch parameters to be uploaded in identical setups;
• ‘Factory reset’ to reset the factory settings;
• ‘Help’ shortcuts and information.

The latest version of DISPLAX Connect, 3.10, is already online with some improvements:

• Improvements in TUIO calibration;
• Bug fixes and improvements in object recognition;
• Bug fixes and improvements in COnnect launch modes;
• General bug fixes and improvements in DISPLAX Service and Connect;
• Video wall calibration improvements.
