One of the most common struggles people face is overthinking.?
?
It’s the root cause of anxiety, stress, and even depression.?
?
When I work with people, the very first thing we focus on is learning to silence the mind.?
?
Why? Because if you can’t hear the thoughts running through your mind, how are you supposed to challenge or change them?
?
Overthinking traps us in two places: the past, filled with guilt and regret, and the future, full of fear and doubt.?
?
Rarely are we focused on now, the only moment we can actually control.
?
This reminds me of a scene from the book, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.?
?
The boy and the horse are wandering through a dark forest. The trees are thick, the path is unclear, and they’re completely surrounded by darkness.
?
“I can’t see my way forward,” says the boy, feeling lost.
“Can you see your next step?” the horse asks.
“Yes.”
“Then take that,” the horse replies.
?
Step by step, the boy moves forward, still surrounded by darkness but trusting in what he can see.
?
This story reflects life perfectly.?
?
When we overthink, it feels like being lost in a forest, you can’t see the wood for the trees, and the light feels far away.?
?
But when you focus only on the next step, the noise in your mind fades, and clarity starts to return.
?
Overthinking magnifies problems that don’t yet exist.?
?
It keeps us stuck in imaginary scenarios, distracting us from what truly matters.?
?
The first step to overcoming this is becoming aware of the thoughts running your life, and challenging the ones that don’t serve you.
Ask yourself: How is overthinking impacting your life, your decisions, and your well-being?
?
?What would change if you could stop the noise and start choosing your thoughts, emotions, and actions consciously?
?
If you’re ready to get out of the forest and start seeing things clearly again, let’s talk.
