Overslept! What a Dream!

I was on stage with one organization representative explaining how their work switched the West Bank and Gaza into a "Utopia", and he started to mention some projects that they funded. Two speakers before I started to attack that organization's business model, one said "We hear about $ 1M fund, but 60% spent on your salaries).

Then my turn came, and I praised their contribution to the community and marked the need for such fund, noticeably short, advice. I have known this organization for over 15 years, and I know some of its employees as well. Here, the moderator jumped and asked me whether I could give them advice, I looked the representative in the eye, and he gave an "OK" hint.

Quoting myself from that event " As a previous Logistics Coordinator at Medical Relief International, and as Procurement Specialist and Compliance Officer for a TVET 20 Million Dollars USAID funded project, and as a Senior Procurement Officer at the United Nations World Food Program, managing more than 100 Million Dollars, and as Procurement Specialist at Millions of dollars World Bank Funded Project, and as Supply Chain Supervisor at USA Military funded project, and as an Author of a book for helping new public procurement officers by giving them tools on how to manage Public Fund. I advise you to:

" Refine your evaluations committee, either by bringing new blood and eliminating those who are not capable, or you may replace all the committee members, and it is important to build their capacity on how to split between their personal and professional opinions and decisions. You have a good management team, I said, but your committee is not competent enough to evaluate proposals, do not assume that they will figure it out only by sending them some criteria to read, for the opposite, I advise that you bring a consultant to sit with them in a three hours workshop and to go with them over the evaluation criteria, then have them sit for a test, and only those who make it, can sit on an evaluation committee".

By being on a panel and saying that publicly, I added one other donor to the basket of those who hate me. Especially the Arab employees who could secure good employment for them for 20+ years. As if they found themselves at risk!

Then I woke up, I looked at the clock, and it was 9:43 AM.

So, my advice to you, the reader " Wake up early, and you shall prevent such dreams"
