Overcoming Your Fear
You know fear when you experience it. For example, when someone is afraid of sitting in an airplane or getting the blood test done, or is scared of driving a car, or is scared of their boss, or is scared of public speaking. When you experience it, your emotions are in a high state, and it draws a lot of your energy towards the situation. At times , you become distracted and either surrender to the problem or run away from the situation. Before we proceed further, we need to comprehend what fear is and what it’s about?
What is Fear?
It’s an uncomfortable emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm. The threat can be real or imaginary. Fear is a powerful, natural, and powerful human emotion. Our human response is known as the "flight or fight" response, with which we prepare ourselves to either get involved through a fight or run away.
"He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
?
We need to develop the understanding behind it before we take steps to overcome it. The positive news is that we can overcome our Fears. Instead of imagining the worst possible scenario and let ourselves be victims of it. We need to become aware of it and then conscious steps to also think about the best possible outcome.
1)?????Identify your Fears: Sit quietly in a quiet place and observe your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. Then, prepare a list of them and describe them as clearly as possible.
2)?????Choose Positive Thoughts: When you catch yourself thinking negatively, replace it with a positive thought.
3)?????Do Positive Affirmations: Affirmations are statements that are used and repeated to encourage and uplift the person saying them. In practice, when you initially begin saying your positive affirmations, you might find it challenging to be true. However, with the passage of time and consistency of repetition, they sink into your subconscious mind. Then you start to believe them, and they become true.

4)?????Visualize Your Success: Start with a visual idea of what you want to arrive at your final goal. Now, by setting up goalposts for yourself and seeing them in complete detail in your mind, you are setting yourself up for attaining victory.
5)?????Practicing Mindfulness: Becoming aware of where you are and what you're doing without becoming overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around you. When we practice mindfulness, we're practicing the art of creating space for ourselves—freedom to think, room to breathe, the distance between ourselves and our reactions.
6)?????Practicing Deep Breathing: Breathing is essential than you think. Usually, worry starts from short breaths. This, in turn, causes an impact on your body which quickly becomes an anxiety attack. The key to overcoming those outbreaks of anxiety is to control your breathing.
7)?????Journaling Your Victories: The key is to make yourself feel good about your progress. And this is why celebrating your small wins is essential in your journey to success. Oprah Winfrey, the American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and said it well: when we celebrate our wins in life, the more we have in life to celebrate.
