  • Why it’s always ok to reassess your business Values
  • My 6 tips for overcoming stage fright as a keynote speaker

My VIBE Framework

In the inaugural edition of this newsletter, I introduced you to my VIBE framework to reach sustainable success in your business. In this issue, let’s do a deep dive into the first component: Vision + Values.

Why having a clear Vision is essential for your business

Zig Ziglar, an American author, salesman, and motivational speaker said it best when he said:? “If you want to reach a goal, you must ‘see the reaching’ in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.”?

When I meet with aspiring entrepreneurs, I often find that many are awestruck by successful businesswomen but struggle to see themselves achieving similar success. What sets these successful individuals apart is not just their drive, but their ability to envision a bigger future for themselves and their businesses. So many people overlook this step, thinking it’s a futile exercise. But you can’t get where you want to go, if you don’t have a clear vision for what that destination is. Have you spent time actually mapping out a vision statement?

Why it’s always ok to reassess your business Values

While knowing your Vision is paramount, it's equally important to ensure that our pursuits are aligned with our values and integrity. As we grow and face new opportunities, it becomes increasingly essential to stay true to ourselves and what matters most to us. I remember not too long ago saying yes to some business opportunities that didn’t feel right. I realized that as my business grew, I needed to reassess my values so I had a clear compass on what opportunities were a HELL YES, and which ones were a NO THANK YOU.

My top 6 tips for overcoming stage fright as a keynote speaker

In? the last issue I promised to share my insights from being the closing keynote speaker at The Organizers Collective Retreat. It was amazing … but I was actually really stressed about it. Here’s what I learned about how I need to approach big speaking events like this in order to combat any stage fright:

  1. I need plenty of time to practice my speech - out loud - if it’s new material (which it was).
  2. It’s essential that as a closing speaker, I don’t use up all of my energy (and my voice) the days leading up to it, even though I REALLY wanted to connect with everyone there (it was a 4 day event).
  3. Sleep has to be the #1 priority (even if it means missing out on some fun late-night hanging out).
  4. Doing a tech run-through is super helpful and calmed my nerves.
  5. Although heels make me feel more confident, I tend to pace a lot more in them trying to distribute my weight. I did this speech in flats and I’m so glad I did.
  6. And the biggest lesson is this: when I’m up on stage, it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with the audience members. I want them to have fun and feel the impact of the message. When I focus on that, none of the other stress matters.

Question of the Month

Every month, I address real questions posed by entrepreneurs like you that I’ve been asked on my LinkedIn or Instagram accounts.

The question I’ve chosen this month is:

Q: How can I get more comfortable showing up on social media?

A: Fear of judgment can hold us back. But here's the truth: no one judges us as harshly as we judge ourselves. Start small by choosing one platform and share a personal story that you’ve never shared before. Let your audience see the real you. If your story impacts one life (which it will!) it was worth it. Then, regularly engage with your audience. Doing this makes you realize that we’re all just individuals looking for connection. You can do it, friend!

I can’t wait to be in your inbox again next month to deep dive in the second step of my VIBE Framework. Until then, keep taking action and showing the world how amazing you are!

xo,

Corinne
