Hey LinkedIn friends,
Let's talk about something that many of us have experienced at some point in our lives: stage anxiety. Whether you're presenting in a meeting, giving a speech at a conference, or performing on stage, that feeling of nervousness can sneak up on you and leave you feeling faint, blank, dry throat or like you're about to faint.
For me, it all started way back in the day when I was cast as a 'Calling Bird' in the Twelve Days Of Christmas school production. Amidst the chaos of being a nine-year-old with a lot on my mind (my dad was in the hospital at the time), I stumbled my way through the performance, unintentionally turning it into a comedy act by colliding with another 'bird' and setting off a chain reaction of falls.
Fast forward to today, and while I've become a confident speaker, those nerves still appear occasionally. But don't worry because I've learned a few tricks along the way to turn those nerves into fuel for a killer presentation.?

6 个月Thanks for these professional insights - speaking 1-2 secs slower than usual when on stage can be beneficial to avoid colliding words and also ‘hold’ your audience, speak to be heard and understood not rushed to finish. And, enjoy ??
