Good morning everyone!
Looking to get over your speaking anxiety and stage fright?
I spend quite a lot of time public speaking, as an attorney, podcast host, and occasional keynote speaker, I’ve had to really teach myself how to feel comfortable with eyes on me.
When it comes to public speaking, remembering these frameworks and strategies can guide you through your speech, ensuring you stay on track and deliver your message with clarity and confidence.
The cues that I use, and that I teach come from the acronym INSPIRED.
I - Identify Your Theme Theory and Thesis:?Begin with clarity. Define your main message, its underlying theory, and your central thesis. This sets the foundation for your speech's purpose.
N - Normalize Your Fears:?Acknowledge that nervousness is normal. Embrace it as a sign that you care about your message. Turn anxiety into energy to drive your performance.
S - Select a Story:?Stories resonate. Choose a relatable anecdote or example that illustrates your message. Stories create connections and keep your audience engaged.
P - Prepare Your Presence:?Your physical presence matters. Practice confident body language, maintain eye contact, and use gestures to emphasize key points.
I - Information Points:?Provide valuable content. Deliver clear, concise, and relevant information that supports your thesis. Ensure your audience walks away with actionable takeaways.

R - Recall:?Make your speech memorable. Craft a closing statement that leaves a lasting impact, making your audience recall and reflect on your message.
E - Exposure Therapy:?Practice makes perfect. Repetition builds confidence and familiarity with your material. Practice your speech multiple times to refine your delivery.
D - Delivery:?Your voice is your instrument. Work on your cadence, body movement, articulation, and projection. A strong delivery enhances your message's impact.

1 年great set of queues. I love the normalize point, as even people who are good at public speaking get nervous. They've developed tools and processes to overcome and move on, and have spent time becoming more comfortable, as your Exposure point makes.
