Hello! My name is Lisa Brewer, and I help Corporate and Clinical Professionals create a business of purpose and impact that gives them personal freedom to live life to the fullest.
There, I said it.
I've been a full-time, online entrepreneur for four years now. I have coached over 1,500 Transformational and Educational Life Coaches. I am also a seven-figure online coach.
There, I said that too.
Some of you may be a little taken aback. Maybe some of you have known me for years and had no idea what I did (or it was clear as mud!).
Some of you may be having a visceral reaction because of the perception of online business coaches.
And some of you are so excited and thinking "I need to connect with her because that's EXACTLY what I have been thinking about doing but didn't know how."
To all of you I say "Let Them". And not disrespectfully. It's totally cool. Let me explain.
On my trip to work in-person with my client Karie, I started listening to 'The Let Them Theory' by Mel Robbins. Now, I started late in my 6-hour drive, so I only got through five and a half chapters, but trust me, chapter 5 was life-changing. So life-changing I had to bring it to you.
The Power of Letting Go
The Let Them Theory is all about accepting what we can't control and focusing on what we can. As entrepreneurs, this means letting go of the need to manage how others see us and instead putting our energy into what truly matters—our vision, our growth, and the impact we want to make.
Embracing Uncertainty
Let's face it—entrepreneurship is full of uncertainty. Trying to control every little thing (especially what others think) is not only exhausting but also a waste of energy. When we embrace the Let Them Theory, we accept that uncertainty is part of the process—and that's okay. It's in this space of "not knowing" that creativity and growth thrive.
Redirecting Your Energy
When you stop worrying about things you can't control—like other people's opinions—you free up so much mental space. That energy can be redirected toward building your business, solving problems, creating new ideas, or connecting with your clients in meaningful ways. It's a game-changer.
Applying the Let Them Theory to Entrepreneurship
Here's how you can use the Let Them Theory to shift your mindset as an entrepreneur:
Empowering Yourself: The "Let Me" Approach
While letting others think or feel whatever they want, it's important to turn inward and empower yourself with "Let Me" statements:
These "Let Me" statements shift the focus back to what you can control—your actions, your mindset, and your commitment to your goals.
Moving Forward with Confidence
As transformational life coaches, we have a unique opportunity not just to live by these principles but also to share them with our clients. When we embody the Let Them Theory in our own lives, we inspire others to do the same—and that ripple effect can change lives.
Authentic Leadership
When you stop worrying about how others see you, something magical happens—you show up as your authentic self. This authenticity not only feels better but also attracts clients who genuinely connect with who you are and what you stand for.
Resilience Through Challenges
The entrepreneurial journey isn't always smooth sailing—but when you embrace the Let Them Theory, you build resilience for those tough moments. By focusing on what's within your control (your effort, attitude, and actions), you'll find it easier to bounce back from setbacks.
Building Meaningful Connections
When you let go of trying to please everyone or prove yourself all the time, you create space for deeper relationships—with clients, peers, and even yourself. These authentic connections are where real impact happens.
Final Thoughts
The Let Them Theory isn't just a mindset—it's a way of living that frees us from unnecessary stress and allows us to focus on what truly matters. As entrepreneurs and life coaches, we have big dreams—and those dreams deserve our full attention without being weighed down by fear or judgment.
So let them think what they want. Let them doubt you if they must. And while they do that? Let yourself move forward boldly toward building the business (and life) of your dreams.
What will you let go of today so you can move forward?
