Overcoming Self Doubt
Self-doubt may come from previous negative experiences.
Parents, teachers, or people we see as an authority telling us we can’t do something or accidentally placing that doubt within us. Those with insecure attachments may have experienced being criticized at a young age, which can develop a self-limiting belief and contribute to self-doubt later in life
Self-compassion
Getting to a place where you can forgive yourself for making mistakes gives you huge self-empowerment. Here are some tips on how you can develop self-compassion.
Step 1: Practice Forgiveness.?
(Stop punishing yourself for your mistakes. It is easy in a world that surrounds you with negativity to look for what you have done wrong, instead I employ you to focus on all the good things around you. Your life is your movie, you are the Director and get to choose how it goes)
Step 2: ‘’Growth Mindset’’. Read this book by Carol Dweck
( I have it on audio or the E-book for you free if you like just drop me a message )?
Step 3: Express Gratitude?
( you can’t receive more if you’re not grateful for what you already have )
Step 4: Find the Right Level of Generosity.
( Givers need to set limits because takers never will - Henry Ford)
Know when to stop doing for others and to take for yourself, you are human after all?
Step 5: Be Mindful and practice mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress. This can be highly beneficial, going to bed a little earlier and meditating before sleep. Taking a walk during the day to just be with yourself helps you collect thoughts and new ideas, and gives you answers to questions you’re struggling to answer.
Think back to your past achievements
There have been times in your life you have felt so confident about a situation, confidence comes from knowledge and doubt can stem from ignorance or lack of knowledge. This is called the 4 stages of competence. ( There will be an article on this )
Use past achievements to put yourself in a place mentally where you know you can do it! remember a time when you completed a task that you didn't think you could do, There was once a time you couldn’t ride a bike, swim, or drive a car

Try not to compare yourself to others
Compare yourself only with who you were yesterday and try to be 1% better today to set yourself up for tomorrow, you don’t have the life others have, the bills they have to pay, the problems they face, stop comparing yourself to others, instead discover your own strengths and use them to move you forward. You are unique and here for a reason.
Spend your time with supportive people
You pick up on the energy of the people around you so be around ambitious positive people who will also face challenges but look at them as ways to learn and grow, not as problems or barriers. We become the average of the people we associate with.
Seek professional help
Don’t be worried about sharing your thoughts with others, if you have done that in the past and it’s failed or made you feel worse then that means you shared with the wrong people. There are genuine people out there who like to help, want to grow with you, and may share similar thoughts too, a problem shared is a problem halved,
It doesn’t have to be a Dr or a therapist, I believe in mentors being the best people to speak with as they want what you do too and will go along with you on the journey.
Start journaling
For a long time, I avoided this because I was caught with a diary as a kid and laughed at, however, I overcame that and am glad I did because it is so powerful to be able to look back a month/year and see how far you have come. We remember much more when we take notes. Doesn’t matter what you write when you first start, if it’s on paper it’s out of your head.
Remember all ideas good or bad have 3 stages ( First in the mind, then on paper, then in the physical ) get it out of your head and on paper.
Be skeptical of your thoughts.
How often have we thought we couldn’t do something or that it was going to be difficult and it ended up being quite straightforward? Have you ever used the saying ''That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be''
Your thoughts are just trying to protect you from harm but this is based only on our beliefs and survival instincts from 1000s of years ago, well you don’t need to protect yourself from lions and saber-tooth tigers anymore, we have evolved however for some, the mind hasn’t evolved enough because maybe we haven’t practiced enough, we haven’t pushed through our limitations enough and stepped outside the comfort zone.
You are more capable than you think, it just requires a word the Japanese called?
‘’Kaizen’’ constant and neverending improvement of oneself.
Do one new thing a day no matter how big or small, develop the habit of stepping out of your comfort zone and you will be amazed at how far you can go.
I hope some of these have brought you some value, we can go into much more detail if you are interested in gaining more focus and driving doubt out
