Did you know that 85% of people struggle with low self-esteem (reported in Psychology Today), and over 70% of people experience imposter syndrome? (Journal of Behavioral Science).
This means most of us walk around feeling like we’re not enough—questioning whether we’re good at our jobs, capable of leading, or even deserving of success.
Does this sound familiar?
Recently, I’ve had conversations with people whose confidence has been shaken by the actions or words of others. Whether it's a micro-managing boss, critical feedback in front of peers, or feeling invisible in your professional and/or personal life—these experiences leave a lasting imprint on your self-worth.
Confidence isn’t something you’re born with or without. It’s something you build. And it starts with reclaiming your personal energy and letting go of outdated beliefs that no longer serve you.
Here are the three steps that I find are most effective in helping my clients restore their confidence and step into their full potential:
Step 1: Self-Awareness
Do you recognize your own talents and gifts? Many people I work with are incredibly talented, but they don’t see it. The first key to confidence is a deeper level of self-awareness. When you truly know who you are, what you value, and what you’re capable of, confidence naturally follows.
Take a moment today to reflect on your unique strengths—what makes you different? What challenges have you overcome that you rarely give yourself credit for?
Step 2: Release Limiting Beliefs
So much of our self-doubt comes from beliefs we’ve taken on from others—whether it’s being told we’re not good enough, comparing ourselves to others, or internalizing society’s expectations. This step is about recognizing those beliefs and letting them go. Release the energy and conditioning that aren’t truly aligned with who you are.
The result? A profound sense of clarity and confidence as you step into the real you.

Step 3: Align with Your True Self
As you release outdated beliefs, you begin to align with your authentic self. When this happens, your confidence becomes unshakable. You stop looking for external validation and realize that everything you need is already within you.
One of my clients sent me this message after working with me: “Thank you for igniting a fire in me. I love how ‘new me’ turned out to be!” But it’s not about becoming a "new" you—it's about revealing the real you, the person you were meant to be all along.

So many of us have internalized messages from childhood about being broken or weird or crazy or wrong that we have trouble seeing our gifts and talents—and we all have them! Identifying, accepting, and learning to harness them in service of your values and goals makes all the difference. Thanks for the great article, Linda.
