Overcoming the Pain Points of Growing a Remote Team – 3 Easy Tips

Here are some insightful tips we gathered from our meeting:

1. When recruiting, focus on personality.

Look for people you feel you can trust and that can work well with the team.

Hiring fast is usually a recipe for disaster, so better to keep an open-door conversation with candidates you like.

An excellent place to start? Referrals.

Other pro tips when building a team are to find a partner who believes in your mission and is passionate about what you're doing. Reward proactiveness with performance bonuses, and a percentage of profits, and give incentives for growing the team and delegating tasks.

2. Select stacks with a large pool of candidates.

When building a modern SaaS product, you want to pick stacks that have a large pool of candidates because the hourly rate is going to be more competitive.

The most common ones are TypeScript, React, and Node while AWS, Laravel, and Azure DevOps are familiar among enterprises like banks, oil companies, and healthcare companies.

Look for candidates that are driven and motivated to learn by themselves!

3. Try these tools:

• Slack for communication
• Asana for task management
• Jira for project tracking
• Trello is a client-based and web-based project management software for iOS and Android
• Notion for onboarding or documentation
• Calendly for scheduling meetings (specifically with clients or collaborators)
