It’s easy to feel overwhelmed as a small publisher in today’s digital landscape.
After attending a recent webinar about how small publishers of content… personal blogs written by one author… are now being ignored by major search engines, I felt like giving up.
It was discouraging to hear how the odds seem stacked against smaller voices.
With large brands now dominating search engine results and AI-driven platforms prioritizing their content, the temptation to toss in the towel is real.

2 个月These are great insights Trish. I believe we are entering an era of: 1 - RELATIONSHIPS (personal trust building), 2 - NICHE KNOWLEDGE (core competency) and 3 - COMMUNICATION SKILLS (media/social savvy). IMHO...larger brands will bleed into generic while smaller brands that have an authentic voice will separate themselves. I talk all day/every day on most of these platforms. And while I don't necessarily consider it "publishing" ( although it is, I guess), I DO view it as brand-building. Either way, that activity (publishing) is like fitness or nutrition in that it's either one's "religion" or it just won't work. In general, publishing cannot be "hacked" because of the commitment required in building relationships digitally must be a daily practice. My advice is that we should focus on the PERSON and not the PLATFORMS so much. Because times are changing. But i agree with everything you wrote here. Great stuff!
