Overcoming My Bout with Mental Illness...

Overcoming My Bout with Mental Illness...

I Self wrote and Self-published (a.k.a. shared) a book.

It is the story of how I overcame my bout with

clinical depression, functional alcoholism, obesity and social isolation.

It took place around the time of my midlife crisis.

It was a nasty time, in a nasty place.

A time in which I had pretty much given up on life.

I was not suicidal but I had stopped living.

I am grateful to be in a much, much better place now.

Grateful to myself for making it happen!

And, grateful to a whole lot of other people for supporting me along the way!

By sharing my story, I am hoping to inspire and empower others to make positive changes in their lives.

The more people, and the more positive changes, the merrier. ??

So, what better occasion to share my story with even more people then as part of

all of the communication and sharing that is taking place today, Thursday January 28, 2021.

During Bell’s Let’s Talk day.

I am always looking for ways to talk (i.e. share my story by speaking) but,

I am also looking at ways of sharing it by writing.

By sharing how I was able to make my transition EASYer on myself,

I am hoping that others will be inspired to do the same.

By leveraging some of the ideas that I leveraged, or coming up with some of their own.

So, If you would like to read about my story:

My book

MONDAYS don’t have to SUCK!

How small changes can make a huge difference.

Is Available on Amazon.

In it, I share how I made it EASYer on myself to end up in such a nasty place in the first place.

And then, I share, how I made it EASYer on myself to end up where I am now.

In one of the most joyful and fulfilling places of my life.

It was not always an easy journey, but it was a lot easier when I made it EASYer on myself.

In chapter 4 of my book,

I share a picture and some of my before and after statistics.

The change has been like night and day.

From a place of darkness to a place of light.

For that, once again, I am oh so grateful.

Enjoy the read!

And here is wishing you well on your journey of change.

Oh! and .. do feel free to share any ideas that you may have that might help others make their journeys EASYer on themselves.

I am always looking for ideas on how to MAKE and more importantly, MAINTAIN, Positive changes in one’s Life.

Cheers, Dave
