Overcoming Gaps in Benefits Value

Overcoming Gaps in Benefits Value

It is impossible for an organisation?to create solutions, programs, benefits for each specific individual! It is a?clear cut affirmation that forces us to buy cross-cutting offers that are assumed?to align to needs and wants of our people.?

We know that organisations are not good in handling singularity or individuality,?they live and breathe from standardisation, processes and packaging value to stakeholders. The danger of blindly?keeping just this focus is that we normally lose track of the value itself we are generating and continue to?tick the box until something breaks eventually.?

The context has radically changed in 2023?and we keep revolving around the same?expectations concerning work experience and wellbeing benefits. They are not the same. Some of the new approaches?offered in the market particularly for health promotion miss the goal entirely since the utilisation is low and the impact not even assessed.

Costs are increasing for sure concerning health benefits programs and this makes the corporate wellbeing market extremely satisfied and commoditised, but the impact is nowhere near what it needs to be,?to really make a difference and get us the financial and health outcomes promised?in the business case for wellbeing?at work.

What needs to change? Our assumption?that we can create impact by just doing what the market is offering. From our experience the companies that are doing a better managing of their people health and wellbeing?follow internal trends not external. The recognition comes from within and from results and impact data and they actually listen to and proactively and ethically search for it.?

So in this edition of our review we invite you to start by asking are we listening and adapting to our own internal trend through on our monthly?blog post?themed "Mind the Gap! Benefits trends versus what people really want...".?We also suggest you to make workplace wellness work?with a great book by Laura?Putnam "Workplace Wellness that Works: 10 Steps to Infuse Well-Being and Vitality into Any Organization".?And finally, we invite you to watch a great Ted Talk by Anna Greenwald?about "Why Wellness Sucks".?

Let's unpack and unsuck wellness benefits so they can finally deliver what we need!
