Overcoming Fear And The False Sense of Security

Overcoming Fear And The False Sense of Security

“If I lose my job, I am going to suffer!”

No. This is not the reality. Let me explain...

Fear can have so much power over the human psyche, compelling one to believe in things that do not exist. Many people navigate their lives based on fear of loss and failure rather than the inspiration and empowerment of an attainable vision.

The Bad Programming of Security

If you lose your job, it doesn't mean your going to suffer, but you probably will because you "believe" you are going to suffer and you will make sure that suffering becomes your reality. This is the poison of the programming and narrow-minded thinking that pervades our society, causing much stress and anxiety in the collective unconscious.

Over time we develop a belief system based on a false sense of security in our jobs, businesses, status, accolades, inheritance, and so on. We say things like:

  •  "I will not be secure in life unless I get that job."
  • "I can't earn a decent salary unless I get that degree."
  • "I need to get my website up before I start doing business."

Goals and objectives that are driven by fears are usually based on "prevention" such as:

  •  “beat the competition to maintain my position”
  •  “work 80 hours a week so I don’t get fired”
  •  “get a job as senior manager so I can be financially secure”
  • "marry a rich person so I can be happy and secure"

Believe It Or Not You Are Inventing Your Future

These are all goals driven by prevention rather than intentional invention, and therefore we limit ourselves to only a few options towards happiness. This mode of thinking is fear-based and it thwarts our creativity and ability to think outside the box, because we feel that thinking outside the box will threaten our false sense of security.

See I believe we all are inventing our future through our mode of thinking and belief system. When we have a negative mindset due to a strong belief or dread, we are contributing to the invention of suffering in our future. If we get the job that we think is going to make us secure, later on when something happens that threatens our job position, we end up being trapped in stressful circumstances because of "fear of loss".

However, a positive mindset and a strong positive conviction reinforces the invention of sustainable peace of mind. For instance, when we believe there is a higher power that sustains our happiness beyond the situations and circumstances, we have the freedom to relax and be creative with our time and attention. We can think outside the box and play with new ideas without feeling threatened that our sense of security will be compromised.

You Attract What You Fear

So if we believe that losing a job, losing a client or market position, or not getting a particular position or status will cause suffering, then we are literally subscribing to inventing a future of suffering grounded in “fear” itself. This suffering from fear causes stress and inflammation in the body, and leads to terrible chronic diseases that sneak up on us over time.

A Way Out of Suffering

So how do we go about untangling this nasty psychosomatic condition that depletes our energy, impedes our actions, and keeps us trapped into this continuous round of suffering?

For sustainable inner peace, we must connect to our True Self!

There are many ways to connect to our true self, however, below I will describe the path that many have asked me to breakdown in more detail because of their great interest in meditation and reflection.

Dismantle The Programming

First off, fear from worry is just energy trying to past through us due to the resistance from the programming of the subconscious mind. So the programming is the obstruction of the mind that causes this continuous suffering (stress, anxiety, frustration, self doubt, inflammation, disease, etc.).

To begin dismantling the programming, we must first bring our awareness into the present moment. The subconscious programming of fear can only operate on clinging to negativity from the past and dreading negative events in the future. This is all done through the imagination, so short-circuit this pattern of thinking by bringing your attention to the breath.

Move Into Full Acceptance

Next, we must fully accept everything that is happening to us and let go of the resistance to what’s unfolding in the current situation. This means surrender everything to a higher power. One could say that you’re giving everything up to that higher power that created you, which is unfolding in this present moment. Remember, the programming can’t understand the “higher power” (unconditional love), so this is a powerful way of creating space by zooming out of the conceptual self (ego), and shifting into one’s true self (creation, unconditional love).

You should notice your breath becoming more calmer as you contemplate through this process.

Shift The Attitude To Gratitude

Be grateful for the fact that you are in union with the higher power that is unfolding in this moment. Once you have truly surrendered and released all of your concerns about subsistence and well-being, tremendous gratitude will arise. You may feel a sense of empowerment knowing that all the obstacles you've overcome to get you where you are now was actually due to this higher power that is unfolding right now in this present moment. This automatic unfolding process is Love In Action.

Forgive Yourself And Others To Establish Closure

This is a sneaky one because many people don't recognize much of what's holding them back from living a fulfilling life is lack of closure and unresolved resentment that is nested deep in their heart. When we still feel like we were wronged either by our own actions or the actions of others, then we are locked into a state of "judgment", which is an unabated state of resistance many of us don't recognize is ruling our life.

Therefore, take time out in your day to enter a mode of reflection, and recall all the experiences that lead you into the position you are in now. Reconsider your view of other's wrong-doing and try to look at things from the other person's perspective. Use a sense of compassion to change the narrative about the other person (or people), and see them as just human beings who are caught into this round of suffering just like you. When you can forgive others, you can forgive yourself quite effortlessly (and vice versa).

Let Go And Get Pulled By Love In Action

When we put our sense of security in conditions and circumstances, we lose sight of the unconditional love and creation that brought us into this world, still moving through us in this present moment. However, when we surrender to creation and unconditional love, we let go of all the burden and stress of trying to control everything with our limited thinking and programming. This allows the tremendous power of love to enter our consciousness so wisdom and insight can arise, and pull us into our future with a keen level of awareness as things unfold.

Align Speech With Mental Attitude

As we become familiar with this process of dismantling the programming and letting go of negative emotions, we must cultivate our way a speaking to match our positive mindset. This is critical because the programming lives in our habits, which are embedded in the subconscious mind that runs on autopilot. To cultivate positive speech, one must deliberately speak positive words to oneself and others. One must deliberately write positive messages to oneself and others. Theses approaches will help reprogram the subconscious thought processes over time, and ultimately prevent the negative tendencies and disposition from arising.

Moving Forward With True Security

See I believe love is always trying to pull us forward in life, but due to resistance, we become the obstruction in the way of our true calling. When we judge others, our world becomes cloudy and dark, preventing the light of wisdom and love to shine through our consciousness, and therefore we see only negative possible outcomes.

However, when we let go, keep an open mind, and free ourselves from judgment, resentment, anger, and frustration, we foresee positive outcomes in our future and we begin to move toward those outcomes more constructively. Hence, we become more socially comfortable, meeting new people and seeing the world with fresh, nonjudgmental eyes and an open heart. We begin to build mutually beneficial relationships very easily without fear of someone doing us wrong, jealousy, or competition.

Once we realize that our true happiness and security is rooted in our True Self, which is Love In Action, we no longer feel threatened and trapped by worry-based fear and anxiety. This is how we can free ourselves from the cyclical round of suffering that pervades our society on a global scale. This awakened state is the True Power that no one can take away from us no matter what circumstances and conditions we may face.

Sidney Jones?these are powerful insights. I was there over a decade ago, and it taught me that I really could make it on my own. (I'd always wanted to work for myself, but didn't really have the courage until I was fired).? I try (emphasis on *try*) to live by the mantra, "You can have more when you accept that you have enough." When I'm able to do that, opportunities find me.?
