However, transitioning into this field in Thailand, a foreign country with its own challenges, was a daunting task.

Challenges Along the Way

1. Cultural and Language Barriers Moving to Thailand meant immersing myself in a new culture and language. Despite my English skills, understanding Thai business practices and workplace dynamics required significant effort.
2. Visa and Work Permit Struggles Navigating Thailand’s legal and bureaucratic systems for a work permit was challenging. Each step demanded time, patience, and understanding of local regulations, which were unfamiliar to me.
3. Lack of Local Experience While I had technical expertise and recruitment knowledge, many employers were hesitant to hire someone without prior experience in Thailand. Convincing them to see my potential was a hurdle I had to overcome.
4. Networking Challenges Breaking into a professional network in a new country can be intimidating. I had to start from scratch, attending events, building connections, and showcasing my value as a recruiter.

How I Overcame These Struggles

1. Continuous Learning I invested time in learning about the Thai job market, its demands, and trends in recruitment. I also improved my understanding of the local culture to integrate better into the workplace.
2. Leveraging My Unique Background Coming from Myanmar gave me a unique perspective and a deeper understanding of the regional talent pool, which became a selling point when presenting my skills to employers.
