September was a busy month for Overclock Labs. Here is a recap of our highlights from the past month.

Overclock Labs Brings Akash Network to Messari Mainnet 2022

Overclock Labs attended Messari Mainnet in New York City for four days of events, networking, and talks.?

Our CEO & Co-Founder, Greg Osuri , spoke on a panel called, “It Just Works: Letting Mainstreams Firms Plug Into Crypto.” Our Head of Product, Anil Murty , gave a presentation on the benefits of Akash Network, and launched our newest product—Overclock Console.

Overclock Console Debuts at Messari Mainnet

We launched our flagship deployment tool — Overclock Console — with a presentation and full demonstration from Anil Murty: “Building the Open Cloud: The Path to a Decentralized Web3.” The full recording of the presentation and demo will be published soon.?

Akash Network’s Mainnet 4 Upgrade Was Announced

Akash’s Mainnet 4 upgrade was announced this month. Here are the four major upgrades that will come with Mainnet 4:

1. IP Leases. This will allow tenants on Akash to request a publicly routable IP address for the services they deploy. Today, you get an HTTP endpoint connected to your service, and Kubernetes assigns the actual port. With IP Leases, a tenant on Akash can request a dedicated IPV4 address, allowing users to assign a specific port instead of a randomly assigned port. This feature will unlock the ability to host a Solana node on Akash Network.
2. Provider Services Split. This upgrade will separate parts of the behind-the-scenes development process for Overclock Labs and make it easy to iterate efficiently.
3. Cosmos IBC v3. Mainnet 4 will incorporate IBC v3 and Interchain Accounts. These features allow one chain to send transactions to another chain—which will unlock new utility on Akash Network.
4. Interchain Accounts. By enabling Interchain Accounts on Akash, we will open up an entirely new world of interchain composability, while significantly improving the user experience on Akash.

Overclock Labs Heads to Medellín for Cosmoverse 2022

While some of the team traveled home after Messari Mainnet, others flew down to Medellín, Columbia, for Cosmoverse 2022. This year, our CTO & Co-Founder, Adam Bozanich , gave a presentation on the current state of Akash Network and the ways that developers can benefit from an open, distributed cloud.?

Our Head of Community, Adam Wozney , moderated a fireside conversation with Dimi, Co-Founder of Juno Network.

Coinbase Features Akash Network In a Web3 Developer Guide

This month, Coinbase published an infographic which laid out the best tools for web3 developers. Akash Network was featured first in the “Decentralized Compute” category. We appreciate the recognition from Coinbase.

We look forward to increased adoption of Akash Network by the current and next generation of web3 developers and builders.

U.S. Department of Defense Team Utilizes Akash Network in Winning Hackathon Project

Akash Network and Secret Network were used in a prize-winning application from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Bravo 1 Hackathon. According to Moultrie Audits, “the application won first place for ‘Most Tactically Relevant for Maintenance Data,’ and second place for ‘Most Tactically Relevant for Cyber Operations.’”
