Over 90% of Harris County Affected By "Unprecedented" Tax Increase

The Harris County Appraisal District began mailing its annual "Notice of Appraisal" to over 1.3 million property owners in the Houston area this month. Chief Appraiser Roland Altinger published a video on HCAD's homepage detailing the havoc in the Houston marketplace over the last year. Basically, the video says that after facing lockdowns, inflation, high unemployment, etc. Houstonians can now look forward to drastically higher property tax bills this fall. So far, over 9,000 property owners and counting have decided to protest their property taxes. With the average tax increase being over 20% this year, we expect MANY more protests will be filed before the May 15th deadline. If you want to protest your property taxes and need help from an expert, contact us.
