Over 60 Local Businesses Attend the Generator's first Greenwich Growth Business Conference
Generator, University of Greenwich
Nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs #foundingmyfuture
This month we held our first Greenwich Business Growth Conference at the Generator. The event was an insightful gathering designed to empower local businesses and entrepreneurs to grow and scale together. We created a unique opportunity to explore the benefits of community collaboration whilst getting a lens on the tactics used by successful start-ups. Through panel discussions, networking opportunities and insightful Q&As we delved deep into what it means to be a successful entrepreneur.
Over 60 local businesses attended the event including Peabody, Good Koffee and Natwest. With speakers from innovative start-ups, experienced local businesses, knowledgeable university academics and inspirational enterprise executives, our guests left with tangible tactics they could immediately implement in their businesses. We explored topics including diverse recruitment, digital marketing and accessing financing as a start-up while exploring how local businesses can collaborate with the university.
Our keynote speaker was Co-founder & Managing Director of ClearView Research Kenny Imafidon. His incredible journey from being wrongly accused of murder as a teenager to writing The Kenny Report and becoming a successful entrepreneur is a truly inspiring story. He recently published his first book 'That Peckham Boy' a personal manifesto on growing up in Peckham, facing adversity and forcing change. He sat with the Generator's Carl Thomas to discuss his journey, biggest lessons and mindset on his way to success.

“Another great event delivered by the Generator - great speakers, relevant attendees and interesting side conversations. I have made some good contacts through the network opportunities.”
The feedback from the conference has been resoundingly positive and we're looking forward to holding similar events in the future. We hope the conference will be the first of many opportunities for us to connect with the local business ecosystem and to be a force of change within the business community.
