Over £16,000 raised for NHS charities in one month

When we launched the UW Foundation just a couple of weeks before lockdown, we thought that Partners might struggle to raise money given the extraordinary situation we now all find ourselves in.

But, in true Team Purple style, partners came out fighting. One partner’s children had a sponsored trampoline bounce, whilst another team member did a 12-hour Fit-A-Thon, and one musical partner recorded his own song. With many more activities from Partners right across the network. For instance, with one prominent leader in the business, his wife also delivered hampers to staff at the hospital where she works as a Senior Nurse.

Together, over a one-month period, we as a team have raised more than £8,000 – which the UW Foundation has matched – donating over £16,000 to NHS charities across the country.

The money we’ve raised pays for well being packs for staff and volunteers. It supports isolated patients with devices so they can communicate with friends and family while in hospital or isolation. And the funds help to provide long-term mental health support for people affected by coronavirus.

Also UW match every donation made by partners up to a total value of £100,000 so there is lots of reason for partners to give of their time during these difficult times.
