This week we started at Bionexo, our reflections of the October Pink, moment to observe and reflect on breast cancer.

According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer that kills women around the world, with a forecast of 60,000 new cases in Brazil between now and 2019.

Studying a little about it I was reminded of a paper (Deep Learning for Identifying Metastatic Breast Cancer) by friend Andrew Beck Co-founder and CEO at PathAI who are revolutionising the study of images where the computer was taught to detect breast cancer in lymph node images with accuracy of 92 percent of the time.

Congratulations to all initiatives that seek to use Applied Technology in Artificial Intelligence for the better quality of life of people.
