Outstanding Youth And Future Leaders Coming Out Of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Ohio
I have to be honest, ROTC programs in our high schools have never really been on my radar until recently. Why the change? The change is coming from the fact that I have had the opportunity to meet a couple of the students in the picture and I am blown away by the dedication, intelligence, character and social skills of these youth! So, I guess that is part of the reason that HHS NJROTC Quailifies for Nationals for third straight year !
I am so thrilled that this example of the best-of-the-best showcases and brings attention to the kind of quality students that is coming out of Hamilton! Yes, right here in Hamilton, Ohio there are youth of outstanding character and commitment. Read on to get the entire story...
Hamilton’s NJROTC's Academics, Athletics and Drill teams
traveled to Central Crossing High School this past weekend (March 3&4)
and competed in the Area 3 Championships, (The Nationals qualifier and
must win). This meet was comprised of 13 participating programs out
of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.
The Hamilton Cadets did not disappoint, finishing 1st place
overall, winning the Area 3 East Championships. As a team, they
earned 1st place finishes in Athletics, Uniform Personnel Inspection,
Armed Plt Drill, Armed Plt-Exhibition. Un-Armed Plt Exhibition. a 3d
place finish in Academics.
Leading the way was our Cadet Commanding Officer Kaylynn Kalama.
Joining her in some great performances were Cadet’s Branden Kalama,
Audrey Nolan, Olivia Caudill, Chris Polido, Tyler Little, Taylor
Lewis, Ryan Jovanovich and Bryce Williams.
A Huge BZ to our GREAT STUDENTS for making this a really Awesome and
Special weekend ! We are very proud of our program, and we thank any
and all of our supporters along the way. A Special thanks to our
Principal Mr John Wilhelm, whom was in attendance.
Next stop is Navy Nationals on 7 & 8 April, 2017.
25 of the very best NJROTC units from all over the United States will
be in attendance.
