As a developer and project manager I worry a lot about how non-technical CEO handles a developer. When they want a project done it is either that they want the job now and end up frustrating the developer because they can’t just imagine why you need 6-weeks to get the ‘small job’ done. “ Is it not to design the layout, add the form and just query the database” etc. or they are too generous with time and they end up frustrated themselves. Of course, the bottomline challenge is planning.

And a natural solution to this would be to hire an experienced project manager who understands how to work with a developer or simply outsource their development department completely.

However the challenge is that in Nigeria most of the companies are either too small to afford one or don’t see the need anyway.
