Brand Explorers,
We were in London last week.
It's the city that reminds you that bricks and mortar is still king when it comes to retail (even if the returns aren't what they used to be).
So freshly inspired, get some ready for retail goodness featuring MAAP, Rains and Arc'teryx.
Time to GO shopping.
↓
1. Maap LaB: A forward thinking studio for cyclists
With the surge in cycling retail studios, catering to those looking for more than just cleats and lycra.
It takes a distinctively bold space to make a statement in the world of cycling.
Something MAAP ’ LaB concept store has in abundance.
→ Clean
→ Progressive
→ Striking
Yes, it has the coffee machines, the organised rides and the goods to match other studios.
But it breaks the chain with a design that's stikingly clean, forward-thinking, showing us there can be more to cycling retail than just the little add-ons.
2. Rains: An avant-garde gallery in Seoul
Rains has been expanding it’s presence of late, with a series of activations and new retail spaces popping-up across the globe.
But it’s their pop-up retail store in Seoul that grabbed our attention.
It’s distinctively avant-garde.?With a vibe that's more art show than outerwear store.
→ Bold
→ Memorable
→ Original
It's a space that sticks long in the memory and?exactly what a retail space should do.
Reminding us that, just because you create protective outwear, doesn't mean your retail spaces have to reflect this.
3. Arc'teryx: Discovery, experience and exploration
Inspired by design elements from the brands Canadian ARC’One facility, Arc'teryx Equipment flagship in New York is something special.
Home to:
→ Their largest ReBIRD Service Centre
→ An?A-Frame Café
→ A curated collection of ReGEAR
They’ve not tried to reinvent the wheel here.

They've simply created a space in that is packed with discovery, experience and exploration for visitors.
So the next time you look to open a new store or refurb your existing spaces, think about:
→ Excitement: What more can I offer my audience
→ Discovery: What can I do to leave a lasting impression on them
→ Experience: What can I do that goes beyond just product
And create spaces that get people talking and make them?want to keep coming back to time and time again.
