This year we have finally started the official Fundamental Research activity inside our Lab at Huawei Moscow Research Center and I am proud to say that as a result 3 papers were accepted by the leading Machine Learning and Computer Vision conferences:
- "Black-Box Face Recovery from Identity Features" for ECCV-2020 Workshop Computer Vision Challenges and Opportunities for Privacy and Security (authors: Anton Razzhigaev, Klim Kireev, Edgar Kaziakhmedov, Nurislam Tursynbek and Aleksandr Petiushko). Video presentation. Arxiv link.
- "AdvHat: Real-world adversarial attack on ArcFace Face ID system" for ICPR-2020 (authors: Stepan Komkov and Aleksandr Petiushko). Video presentation. Arxiv link.
- "Robustness Threats of Differential Privacy" for NeurIPS-2020 Privacy Preserving Machine Learning Workshop (authors: Nurislam Tursynbek, Ivan Oseledets and Aleksandr Petiushko). (sorry, no links, just have today's acceptance)
And this is not the final results for this year, hope some works also will be accepted by other top conferences.
I would like to thank all the authors of the above mentioned works (especially Anton, Stepan and Nurislam)!
My humble vision on the work of the group that I lead is that this activity is win-win-win opportunity for all:
- Individual researchers get experience and reputation,
- Company promote its brand and prepare background for the future innovations,
- Scientific world have a little more knowledge on the frontiers of knowledge.
Thank you, above mentioned authors, for the chance to work with you. Thanks to Huawei and to my Lab (especially Lab director Ivan Mazurenko) to have opportunities to be involved in the industrial level research.
