September is here and for the Middle East the summer is finally over – with that I mean the sweltering temperatures that reached 53 degrees or 127 Fahrenheit ?? in Kuwait this year which is a pretty annual occurrence.
Here my most interesting news from last month - SAUDI up first ??
·?????Tourism is booming - Saudia flew over 11 million passengers in the first 6months of the year – 4.8 million over them international – so watch this space Emirates – Saudia is hot on your heels to take over as one of the favourite airlines.
·?????Saudi has big plans and has just submitted a bid for the Winter Asian Games ?? (yes you heard right) 2029 which could take place in NEOM, snow and all.
·?????Dolce and Gabbana ?? had a show in Al Ula – swoon swoon, what is not to like?
·?????Lionel Messi was unveiled as the Saudi Tourism Ambassador
·?????Can we talk about Visas? UK, US and European citizens can now apply for their Visa on arrival – this is a huge step forward.
In the other Gulf states a lot happened too:
?·?????This month the Future Hospitality Summit returns to Dubai from 19-21 September – you can register here: https://www.futurehospitalitysummit.com
·?????Talking of Ambassadors, David Beckham is the face of Qatar and if you haven’t seen the advert – take a look, the advert is literally breath taking
·?????Whilst we are talking Qatar and World Cup, the UAE has just announced multiple entry Visas for Hayya card holders. (so did Saudi) – and remember there are plenty of shuttle flights from both countries
