It is out !

As you might (not) have heard, the World Economic Forum 's 'Future of Jobs Report' 2025 is out.
I might not have heard of it either. But Ms. Palki Sharma did a report on it, on her news show. She wisely covered the part of it that cannot be proven wrong !
The part that talks about skill gaps and re-skilling (https://www.weforum.org/videos/skills-gaps-are-the-biggest-barrier-to-business-transformation-around-the-world/ ).
Surely 'workers' can spare around 2 hours a day from their 90 hour work week for re-skilling !
The one's that are working, of course.
Not the ones, who are beyond having any skills whatsoever. Yeah, I see you !
The report also makes some noises about "the most essential skills in the workplace of tomorrow." You can hear it here (https://www.weforum.org/videos/what-are-the-most-essential-skills-in-the-workplace-of-tomorrow/).
Then it makes what would seem to be a mistake, it starts talking about its findings in terms of numbers ! For example, the number of jobs that will disappear, and the number of jobs that will be created over the next 5 years. You can listen to it here (https://www.weforum.org/videos/what-do-the-jobs-of-the-future-look-like/).
Naah, but that is not really a mistake now, is it ? Because, nobody really reads these reports anyways.
And the few that do, don't expect it to be true !
Hell ! I read some of it. I never thought nothing of it.
Macro-economists understand this well.
But once in a while, even macro-economists feel the need to say something right. No matter how banal.
And this was in full display in a recent post by the financial economist from Chicago (hint - he is the one who 'allegedly' predicted the 2008 crisis and was kicked out of Reserve Bank of India by the machinations of the famous Swamy). He advised developing countries to focus on Outsourced Global Capability Service Centers, rather than manufacturing.
The catch ? He said this after I read 3 different news items, and at least 5 posts about global pharma cos. opening their Global Capability Centres at Hyderabad.

The WEF report also talks about which jobs will stay and which jobs will go. You can view it here (https://www.weforum.org/publications/the-future-of-jobs-report-2025/infographics-94b6214b36/ ).
Sadly, according to the WEF report 'accounting and auditing' jobs are amongst the 'top largest declining jobs.'
And 'legal officials and legal secretaries' jobs are amongst the 'top fastest declining jobs.'
Does that worry you ?
Hell, I think nothing of it !
To quote Evaldas ? :
"Zuck says Meta’s AI will start replacing mid-level engineers this year.
"Learn to code," they said.
"It’ll be fun," they said.
"The future is bright," they said...
Well, I’d say the smartest thing to do right now is to learn how to fight.
Learn how to fight!"
