Out with Q1, In with Q2: Lessons, Victories, Way Forward

Out with Q1, In with Q2: Lessons, Victories, Way Forward

Hey everyone, it's been a while since we caught up here. My bad, but I'm here to make it right today. Can we talk about how much can change in just a quarter? Wasn't it like yesterday when we were watching fireworks and exchanging New Year's wishes? Time sure flies!

So, over the Easter break, I took a breather to reflect on my goals and finalize my vision board (yeah, I know, yap just finalized mine). But seriously, Q1 was a whirlwind for me!

As I looked back on my goals, I couldn't help but smile broadly at all the stuff I've checked off already. But I also got reminders of the things I've kind of paused on, even though I committed to them.

Here are a few highlights from Q1:

  1. Build your Brand, People are Watching!

When James Karanja approached me in January to deliver a talk on LinkedIn visibility and Networking to his team, I was humbled and happy, but what stuck out the most to me was that he simply observed what I do and identified me as a good fit for the talk. I heeded the call and delivered. Then came Peninah Ng'ang'a in February, this time, inviting me as one of the speakers to a LinkedIn Audio event on upskilling in the digital economy.?

My key takeaway: Show up, stay consistent, and commited >>> Attract Opportunities.

2. You need people on Your Team

When I was grasped by a challenging work situation and a transition period, I found it manageable to navigate through it with the support and guidance received from the people on my side.

Lesson: Build credible and meaningful relationships in your career journey. People who support you, correct you, and steer you in the right direction. You will need them.

3. Always be Ready?

I had high hopes for Q1- new opportunities, new clients, speaking engagements, new networks, you name it. But in the midst of all this, I knew I had to stay ready. I was able to do this by staying in the right environment, polishing up on my end of the bargain, and communicating my needs to the right people. The results? I was able to attract some of the opportunities I was looking for.

I’m so grateful for your support throughout quarter one, the impactful conversations, the business engagements, and the consistent encouragement. Thank you!

Now, I'd like to hear from you—what were your Q1 highlights? Let's celebrate and learn together. Share in the comments!

What a refreshing review of your first quarter Stephanie??... Loved reading every bit of it???? One of my Q1 highlights was being a guest speaker at KCA University as it felt like a stamp of who I am working to be which is a trainer and lecturer in the field of Digital Marketing especially in the institutions of higher learning. So being part of that event was like a foreshadow of what is yet to come.
