OUT NOW ... new SSRN paper "... Key Paper(s) Matter(s)!"
Robert Faff
Research Professor Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary; Emeritus Professor University of Queensland, Australia; Honorary Adjunct Professor of Finance at Bond University, Australia
Item (C) of Faff’s (2015; 2021) “Pitching Research” framework (PRF) is labelled “Key Papers”. For this item, the pitcher needs to identify a small number of key papers highly relevant to their research pitch. The recommended number of key papers is three. Quite simply … whether your literature encompasses 100 papers/research outputs, or 500 or even just 20 … or whatever the number; it is important that three of these papers be assigned an “elevated” status of “key paper”. But …why? … why do “Key Papers” matter? What are the Key Paper matters?
