Out and About in Corfu on the Trail of James Bond and The Durrells

On the 2nd day of the 6th Corfu Symposium on Managing & Marketing Places we took delegates out and about to see some more of this beautiful Ionian island.
Our first stop was Danilia Park & Museum. Now under the auspices of Grecotel Hotels and Resorts, Danilia is a wonderful replica of a 1930s typical Corfiot village. The village has also been used as the filming location for the James Bond film “For Your Eyes Only”, and most recently for the filming of the smash hit UK ITV series “The Durrells”.
Delegates were treated to the most amazing hospitality, having the chance of a guided tour of the village, talks on the work of Grecotel by Mr. Savvidis (General Manager of Grecotel Corfu Imperial) and on the work of the Nikos Daskalantonakis Foundation in Athens by Mr. Stebilis.
Following very refreshing cocktails and a fabulous lunch delegates then headed off to make their afternoon presentations at the 5 star Corfu Imperial hotel.
After the work was completed, delegates were then treated to a special VIP tour of the Grecotel Luxury Resorts on the Kommeno Peninsular.
A real chance for our international delegates to experience exceptional Corfiot hospitality, get a real taste of Corfu, and connect with the island.
