Our work for Maisons Marques et Domaines receives a design award nomination

We are thrilled to learn that the catalogue we designed for Louis Roederer’s UK arm Maisons Marques et Domaines during last winter’s lockdown has received a design award nomination for ‘best design’ in the print industry’s Solutions Awards this November.

It’s the seventh consecutive year we’ve been nominated by the awards and it is particularly encouraging to be included and recognised at the end of this demanding year.

Being recognised for our work with?Maisons Marques et Domaines?is a lovely feeling. We’ve worked with the team there over the past four years on a variety of print pieces and their enthusiasm and attention to detail always results in a great end product. It’s a reminder that nominations or awards like this only come about because a client moves beyond considering their design team as a supplier alone and rather a collaborator.

The?catalogue is a lovely piece of work?both in its on-screen and printed finished piece.

As we began the project, in-person events were completely on hiatus – a huge stumbling block for a company dealing with a visceral product that needs to be tasted. Traditionally printed in vast quantities, the project was initially conceived as a digital-only piece to be emailed to suppliers.

Interestingly, being freed from page counts and print budgets gave us huge creative bandwidth. We allocated each winery its own multi-page section complete with gorgeous large imagery alongside extensive background detail on each, including imagery of the highly characterful personalities behind the brands.

Taking a step back, this piece of work is a continuation of a long history of?design work we’ve completed for the wine trade?for all kinds of businesses from retail to wholesale. It’s deeply satisfying to see this ongoing relationship flourish anew.
