A new City of Chicago Ordinance requires that all residential highrise buildings (including condominium associations in highrise buildings) provide relief for residents during extreme heat and humidity events. Although this Alert is focused on condominium associations, the Ordinance also applies to clients who own highrise rental buildings in Chicago or operate nursing homes, senior housing, and similar facilities in Chicago.
