Our Vision for the Future of Mobility: Introducing Azul Cars

As someone who has traveled extensively around the world, I've seen firsthand how the mobility industry is evolving—and not always for the better. The global mobility market, valued at $1.2 trillion, is projected to grow to $1.8 trillion by 2027, with an 8% CAGR. Yet, despite this growth, many of the incumbent players—be it traditional car rental companies or ride-hailing giants—continue to fall short in delivering consistent, reliable, and premium service.

During my travels, I've experienced the frustration of dealing with hidden fees, poor service quality, and a lack of flexibility from these large players. This, combined with my experience building Bluebnc Yachting a successful premium yacht charter company with my brother, Eduard von Eiberg and helping major Logistics companies transform their business during my time at Freightos led us to a realization: the mobility industry is ripe for disruption.

With this vision in mind, we, along with two other partners, decided to launch Azul Cars -a company designed to redefine what premium mobility should look like.

The shift is already underway, with 德勤 forecasting that the automotive mobility market could nearly double in size by 2035, driven by new business models and consumer preferences shifting away from ownership to access-based services like Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and auto subscriptions.

This new landscape means that premium mobility will no longer be about just getting from point A to point B. It will be about providing the right vehicle for every occasion with an unmatched level of service and convenience—whether it's a compact cabriolet for a scenic island holiday, an SUV for a family getaway, or a sleek sedan for a business trip.

The current mobility market is dominated by traditional car rental companies like Hertz , Avis Budget Group , and SIXT , as well as ride-hailing giants like Uber and Lyft . However, these companies face significant challenges in adapting to the future of mobility:

  • Inconsistent Service Quality: Large fleets and outdated structures lead to varying service levels, often resulting in disappointing customer experiences.
