Our Top 5 Resources for Divorcing Clients

It's hard to believe it's been two years since we first launched Hello Divorce. Our customers range from DIYers who use our Divorce Navigator web application to prepare and process all of their divorce forms to clients that need or want more support - whether it be through our Legal Document Assisted divorces or access to on-demand, fixed fee legal coaches and mediation consultants. One thing remains constant though - everyone who visits Hello Divorce is focused on moving on - in the least disruptive and most cost effective way possible.
Over time we have A/B tested our content to find out which resources clients like best and/or find the most useful. I'm hopeful that some of your clients (or you!) will find them to be helpful too.
While these resources and tools were designed for Californians, most are applicable across state lines.
Our Hello Divorce Worksheet is designed help clients think through all the issues that will likely come up in their divorce. It's a great way to get organized and start thinking through possible outcomes.
The worksheet will also help people figure out what issues might cause conflict and/or be complicated enough that they should seek outside help from a divorce lawyer, co-parenting therapist or financial planner.
I’ve developed a worksheet to help guide clients through a decision-making process that starts with booking – and then committing – to time just for them. Then, it takes users through a series of questions to help them plan and choose an activity that feels right for them, depending on their needs in this moment and as they grow toward the next version of themselves.
This worksheet is designed to help people think through co-parenting details big and small, in advance. Completing this worksheet ahead of parenting plan discussions with a mediator, soon-to-be-ex, or attorney can give parents the space and time they need to approach co-parenting as thoughtfully as possible. If you like this one, you'll also want to check out our shared custody and visitation checklist!
Goal Setting for Life Post-Divorce
We love this one because it gets our clients thinking about what life will look like after a family re-org. This worksheet helps you think through all the areas in which you could set a goal, and then helps you break down steps to achieving that goal by pinpointing your “why” – your reason for wanting the goal in the first place – as well as identifying a support network that can help you get there and small steps you can take to make meeting your goal manageable.
Our worksheet will help clients approach any dating scenario – whether they are the new partner, the ex meeting a new partner, or the new significant other stepping into the picture – with empathy, understanding and humility toward the situation and the other people involved.
Our goal is to help ease family transitions and keep kids feeling loved, safe and as well adjusted as possible.
