This week's theme is all about how you can recover from stress and our key takeaways from Lewis Capaldi's new Netflix documentary.

Have you watched Lewis Capaldi's Netflix documentary, How I'm Feeling Now?

Released in April, follows the journey of the Brit-Award-winning Singer. It covers Capaldi’s feelings of insecurity, struggles with his mental health, his writer's block and living with Tourette's. The documentary touches on important topics from the pressures to succeed, the importance of support from family and friends and how to recover from stress and anxiety.?

The biggest takeaway for us was when Lewis shared his story about feeling the pressure from selling over 10 million records; going from “pubs and clubs to arenas in just a few years" while continuing to remain true to himself and his purpose. There's a lot to be said about how we manage our expectations for ourselves often set by others. It is important to dream big but even more important is staying true to our values and not being pressured by those around us to live life in a particular way. With all these pressures and stress it's important to have outlets for stress recovery.

So...?how do *you* recover from stress?

In order to complete the Stress Management cycle, we need to implement “Stress Recovery”. Take time for yourself and be compassionate about where you’ve been and where you are. Simply bringing yourself into a state of awareness with calming techniques like adjusting your lighting, igniting something to smell and more can all help with “Stress Recovery”.
