Our temporary move to Paris, and the path to feeling belonging again.
When we first moved to live together in 2019, it was the first time in my life I am living and sharing everything with a partner. I thought it would be challenging, difficult, and full of routine. I discovered with every day passing through that it was the best decision I made in my life. My best friend, my travel buddy, and my advisor became to be my soulmate and my partner in my sadness, laughs, achievements, and dreams. It was the feeling of finally belonging to the world and having life love.
In 2022, we decided to take this relationship further one step and share a commitment of 30 years. We bought our first-ever home! It was an accomplishment on a personal and couple level as I never thought this was even possible for me to buy my own home.
After 10 months of starting to settle down, having our daily routine, daily jobs. A big opportunity was presented at our door from her work.
A temporary move to Paris, France.
I’ve never been to Paris before. The fear of starting over, finding our comfort zone, building new friendships and relationships, adapting to a totally new culture, and searching for a place to call home again started… Many doubts, many fears, and many excitements were present. I tried to stay in my job as my company is international and move internally, unfortunately, that wasn't possible.
We decided to take this step and moved temporarily to Paris in January 2023.
It is a charming city full of culture, arts, and history. Colder than expected and difficult to integrate.
Luckily my partner is happy with her work, and she was well received.
We are now trying to figure out our path to belong. It’s so challenging and not easy!
For the last two months, we were settling down, searching for a place to live, waiting for our small personal items to arrive from our Home, dealing with minor issues, receiving some friends over, and doing some tourist see sightseeing.
We went up to the #eiffeltower and had a glass of #moet champagne to celebrate this new step in our lives. A tip: Always buy your tickets online ahead.
We walked into the #champselysees and watched the stores and all those people.

We went on a boat trip, in #Bateaumouchee on the Seine River at sunset.
We ate very delicious #food and desserts in many restaurants, local and international. Tried the escargots they were good and of course the croissant and baguette.
We made new friends and met old friends.
We watched three series on Netflix, trying to understand the culture and the habits.
We walked and enjoyed the city. Daily, you can hear more than 15 different languages spoken all around you. You can see people from all over the world.
We even had our first Road Trip to Strasbourg, to celebrate my birthday! 3 days of tremendous happiness each second to refresh and restart!
A call to networking
Decided to write this newsletter to share the news that we are in France, Paris temporarily. If you have anyone in your network, connections, friends, people, or even if you are in Paris and you would be interested in meeting and having a coffee, conversation, or discussion! I would love to meet you! Who knows maybe the next project is born here?
