Our teachers - at various stages of life

Today is 'Teacher's day' and we celebrate it by greeting/meeting/remembering our teachers, who helped us shape our life. Most, if not all, of us have been extremely lucky and blessed to have studied under exceptionally competent teachers, who dedicated their lives to the cause of 'knowledge transfer' and always wished well for all their students.

I remember my school days when we used to look forward to 5-Sep just to get a chance to be a teacher, teach a junior class and kind of show-off our 'temporary authority' to those who couldn't retaliate in any way?? It was real fun and we actually used to prepare a lesson-plan and do a fair job.

We in the recent past, celebrated the 25th anniversary of our school and I met several of my teachers after a very long time. It was overwhelming. Many of them still are as enthusiastic as they were 40-45 years ago and it was wonderful to meet them.

Although memories of school teachers are strongly etched in our minds, we cannot forget those from whom we keep learnings, at different stages of our lives, how to be good human beings and give back to the society in whatever way we can. We are greatly indebted to them for what they give us.

A teacher always gives and does not expect much in return.

Teachers are largely responsible for shaping lives and it is god's own work!

Paradigms, methods of teaching, priorities etc though have dramatically changed over the years, untiring efforts of a teacher to make a 'good person' out of a ward, remain a constant.

Let us put our hands together for those who have shown us the right way, been tough whenever situation demanded, tolerated our idiosyncrasies, loved us as their own children and feel proud when they see us succeed.
