Our summary of Paris Blockchain Week: the competition is still put aside.

Last week, our team attended the Paris Blockchain Week Summit 2022–here’s a short summary.

You can definitely feel that blockchain is not going to fade away in the coming years. Over 3,000 attendees, more than 70 sponsors ranging from small businesses to giants such as Binance or FTX.

Let’s not forget about the historical aspect of the venue. Palais Brongniart is a former Paris stock exchange that has been built on Napoleon’s order to unify stock trading in Paris in one place. It was active until 1998.

The idea behind PBWS suits having engaging conversations and networking naturally. From early morning until the evening, we were present either at booths and keynotes made by the well-known names in crypto – CZ from Binance, Silvio Micali from Algorand, and many, many more. After the Summit, there were a handful of accompanying events, such as Algorand’s NFT exhibition in Galerie Joseph or Nexo’s boat party. The crypto community is always welcoming, and it’s one of the best out there to be a part of.

This comes from the community's shared goal of spreading crypto and blockchain adoption. Many businesses in this space are not heavy on competition, as the market is still relatively small and early. We, early adopters, all work for making the whole market larger and more common. This is something that was also pointed out by CZ from Binance in his keynote speech – his company, the world’s largest crypto exchange, pursues greater crypto adoption worldwide, not monopolizing the market. It’s hard to believe it will never change, though.

The general vibe you could feel is that this strategy works for all the crypto community. We truly believe that blockchain is one of the most important innovations of the last decade that might transform so many industries and regions. But it’s not only a belief – year after year, the adoption progresses. Crypto is becoming part of the public discussion. Regulators not only take it seriously–which is a major shift that happened over the last year–but many of them speak favorably about blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

For us, that was also a highly productive time, an opportunity to meet existing and future clients and talk about exciting, upcoming projects.

If you’re considering going to blockchain conferences next year, the PBWS is definitely worth keeping on your radar!
