Our strengths may be someone else’s weaknesses

Historically community referred to a group of people living in a common geographical location, a group of people agreeing on some societal norms and common values among themselves.?

The internet changed all of that, and there are so many communities the world over, separated by languages, cultures, or geographical locations. However they are related to each other in some way or other making a global single community.

Why is that important?

Community is, without question, central to human experience, and the only reason we are able to be reading this right now is through the collaboration of multiple skills and disciplines.

There are so many positive aspects to being part of a group or community. Providing amazing opportunities for people to learn from each other and give support and encouragement.

Being part of a community enables us to give support to others. Being supportive of others will help them to feel good and better about themselves. With so much divisiveness and stress in world we live in, there’s never been a more important time to help others struggling with their mental and physical wellbeing. And guess what! Helping others makes you feel pretty good too!

Sharing also stimulates innovation and growth. Ideas breed new ideas. Apart from the personal benefits of gaining knowledge and insight, sharing also contributes to the community’s greater worth and an ability to achieve some pretty amazing things. For example, i am working with a very talented data scientist, an A.I. expert and some industry leaders right now all thanks to the ISL community, driving positive change in the industry we hope.

With community comes empowerment. When people feel empowered, they feel a sense of control enabling them to influence positive change. It is about making a difference to a group that matters to its members and will help everyone raise their game.

Reinforcement can be a very effective learning tool to encourage desirable behaviours and provide motivation. A strong community will go beyond the immediate, basic needs and ensure that fulfilment is a positive experience.??

Our strengths may be someone else’s weaknesses

Being part of a shared space, whether physical or virtual, gives people the chance to be inspired, solve problems, share humour, vent their frustrations and share their achievements. People who stay within a community are the ones that agree passionately with its values and with these shared beliefs, trust and togetherness, there’s no limit to what they can do for their community. Bringing together like-minded people who are headed for the same goal undoubtedly, nurtures a rewarding and engaging community.

In the last 7 months we have grown from 0-2200 aspiring and existing cyber professionals by building a community based on values NOT products to sell, a community has to be FREE and I vow to keep the ISL community FREE for its members forever.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you would like to join, or indeed help our fast growing and engaged community do not hesitate to reach out!

It's all about team work and info-sec.live is one of the best community I have joined. It's not a community it's a family! I got a lot of new connections and long lasting relationships. Thanks Simon L.??

Community, where team work is at its finest. Like a scrum all pushing together at the same time forward, nothing can stop it.
