Our solution to chemical labelling and design.

Have you noticed the new range of Westlab chemicals in laboratories across Australia?

Yes, they look snazzy. But there is more to them than just the graphic design.

Why did we create our own range of chemicals?

Thanks to lab technicians across Australia, our team learnt about the drawbacks of chemical labelling.

For instance, the current labelling was too similar. We heard about how inconvenient it was to scan a dangerous goods cabinet for the chemical that was needed.

So how did we improve the current labelling model?

We asked lab techs what they wanted to see on the chemical bottle.

In response, our team created labels with

• the chemical name and alphabet letter in BOLD for easy identification
• the chemical formula and molecular weight clearly visible on the front
• colour coded hazardous classification for storage segregation
• specifications, GHS symbols, warnings and UN numbers

What else differentiates our chemicals?

The chemicals have been purity tested to ensure that they meet and exceed the assay listed on the label.
