Our responsibility to the community
I believe any business is responsible for four major stakeholders - our customers, our employees, our investors and the communities where we live and work.
Earlier this year Delta raised the bar on our community support effort, with a commitment to contribute 1 percent of our profits to key charitable organizations. Their efforts support Atlanta’s burgeoning Westside, LA Mayor Garceti’s “war on homelessness,” a development for Veterans in Seattle and more. And they add to the 227 Habitat homes Delta people have built around the world.
We saw another example of that commitment today, with the announcement that Delta employees will build eight Habitat for Humanity homes in six cities nationwide. More than 2,400 employees will participate.
Habitat is a longstanding partner of Delta, and we're proud to support their mission of providing safe, affordable housing around the world. I had the honor of serving on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity International in the past, and have tremendous admiration for the life-changing work of this great organization.
This type of community support is in Delta's DNA, and I'm proud of the time and hard work my Delta colleagues are committing to make our communities better places to live and work.

8 年Rightly said Joseph. We need more and more people to contribute to a cause to make this world a better place. Even small contributions help to motive others.
