Our reflections from the AI Summit 2023
The AI Summit is over for another year - and the future of quantum and AI has never looked brighter for the UK.?
The theme for this year’s event as a whole was?Shape the Future: Uniting global tech to drive?sustainable innovation and as we digest all the amazing ideas, discussions and presentations we were privileged to be a part of on this topic, we’ve gathered our five key takeaways:
3. Businesses should be embracing quantum and AI in the here and now, not waiting for the future. Quantum and AI technology is evolving at a rapid pace. Partnerships like that between 富士通 and Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) are already putting quantum computers into the world’s existing technological infrastructure and data centres to create a seamless customer experience and make these ground-breaking solutions usable today. It’s up to businesses to start interacting with and investing in the technology now.?
“Just in the last 12 months we have seen shifts in some domains towards practical applications of quantum…such as HSBC partnering with Fujitsu to explore real-world applications of quantum in banking.” Dr Keith Dear, MD of the Centre for Cognitive and Advanced Technologies.
4. The success of quantum and AI depends on global collaboration. As these technologies develop and grow, it is critical that we all work together to share knowledge and create a world which uses emerging, transformative technologies safely and effectively. Fujitsu’s Centre for Cognitive and Advanced Technologies provides a direct link to our work in Japan, and enables collaboration between industry, Government and academia, as well as allowing the UK to draw on Japan’s leadership in areas like supercomputing through Fujitsu’s work on Fugaku, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.
“Quantum technology has been getting better and better for the last five years and will make a significant impact on our society in the very near future.” Shintaro Sato, Head of Fujitsu’s Quantum Laboratory
5. Technology is the key to unlocking sustainable transformations. Fujitsu’s purpose is to make the world more sustainable through innovation, and the sheer number of visitors we welcomed to our stand showed growing interest in the critical link between technology and a more sustainable future. Take a look at our Technology and Service Vision 2023 for our recommendations on the actions companies should take to ensure a more sustainable future for our world and tackle issues like climate change, geopolitical tensions, and financial market turmoil.
We’d love to hear your thoughts from this year's Summit on how the real world applications of quantum and AI can drive sustainable innovation and create a brighter future for businesses, governments and societies - you can reach out to our team here on social media or through our website. Let’s keep the conversation going!
