Our Precision on the CFD Calculations is Excellent
We generally deal with orthodox forms such as Cargo Ships, Tankers and River Ships with more than 20 years of towing tank as well as cavitation tunnel experience. Now, we accumulated our knowledge on CFD projects. Therefore, we use the CFD as Numerical Towing Tank together with our self-written softwares.
One of our projects, is the performance assessment of M/V Lider Halil Ship Form from the fleet of Lider Gemi Sanayi from the year of 2019. On the other hand, VM TEKNIK ANALIZ CO. LTD in short Vibramarine (https://vibramarine.com/soundandvibration/) carried on shaft power measurements in order to fulfill the EEDI file of the ship for the class. The Vibramarine, then, kindly shared the EEDI file with us. As a result, we awared of how close our calculations with the real time shaft power measurements!!! As shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1. Comparison of measured shaft power by Vibratek (Pmeas) and our computational delivered power (Pdeliv).
The mesh structure of of the form is given in Figure 2 while the wave deformation at 14 knots of speed is given in Figure 3.
Figure 2. The mesh structure of the M/V Halil Lider.
Figure 3. The wave formation around the hull at 14 knots of speed.
As a result, our approximations and assumptions beside apart from original CFD calculations are wholly true, since almost the same data have been obtained with computation and measurements at the sea.
